Join us for the first meeting of our winter programme. Celebrate with hot chocolate and time for networking from 7pm, before we kick off with a session on mental health first aid.
If someone has visible physical ailment knowing how to help can be obvious – but it’s not quite as easy with mental health. With one in four people affected there is more we can do to improve mental health in rural communities. You may have read about the excellent work local farmer Emma Picton-Jones is doing (featured in Farmers Guardian recently), and we are lucky to have her booked to help us develop and maintain healthy minds.
· What is Mental Illness and why is it such an issue within dairying
· Key signs of depression, anxiety and suicide
· Basic first aid when dealing with mental health issues
· Support systems available in our community and how best to access them
Who should come along: All ladies involved in dairying!
