Women in Dairy - People Skills: How to recruit, keep and develop your team

  • LAWTON FARMS North Farm Aldbourne Marlborough SN8 2JZ (map)

Come and join Paul Harris from Real Success to find out how to find great people for your business and hold onto them.

The Art & Science of People Management – How to Recruit, Engage, Align and Lead Your Team

This workshop will outline the four key stages of your people management process:-

  • Recruit – the essential steps you need to follow to attract the right people to your farm from considering the role you need to fill, through the advertising and interview process to on-boarding new staff.

  • Engage – an understanding of how you communicate with others and how this effects your team. This part of the workshop will show you why only 25% of your communication works effectively.

  • Align – how you need to develop, train and invest in your team to keep them aligned with your business goals and performance standards

  • Lead – the importance of leadership skills v management skills, plus what to look for in potential Herd/Farm Manager.

A small workbook/notebook is provided for each person attending (and completed during the workshop) which provides an overview/reminder of key learning points as well as details of their own preferred communication style. The workshop is relaxed, fun (with a serious intent) and is based around group discussion – nobody is expected to undertake any sort of role play or individual input.
